As part of the Renaissance Silver Jubilee Celebrations, the Department of Biochemistry organized a Guest Lecture, on the topic “CRISPR as a Genome Editing Tool” on 18th June 2025. Dr Anusha R, Professor &Head of Biochemistry, Panimalar Medical College & Research Institute, delivered the lecture, providing a comprehensive overview of the CRISPR-Cas system. She elaborated on its mechanism of action, its broad applications in genome editing, and its relevance in medical research,therapeutic interventions and the ethical implications associated with the use of genome editing technologies.
